Yes, he may not be the greatest role model for the kids but we can\u2019t help but love him. And we definitely would have loved to have him as a cuddly toy when we were little.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Unfortunately, Ted wasn\u2019t around back then and even if he was, we seriously doubt our parents would have let us play with him. Instead we (collective guys and girls around the office) received some pretty amazing toys back and the day, some of which we think are even better than the foul-mouthed, pot-smoking, philandering teddy himself.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>1. He-man Castle Greyskull play set<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/one.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-462\" src=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/one-300x282.jpg\" alt=\"greyskull_inside.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"282\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">By the power of Greyskull &#8211; this was the object of many prepubescent boys\u2019 desire back in the day. If you were lucky enough to have one then you were the envy of all your mates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>2. My Little Pony Dream Castle play set<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/pony-house.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-463\" src=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/pony-house-300x205.png\" alt=\"pony-house\" width=\"300\" height=\"205\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The girls\u2019 equivalent was much brighter, prettier, a lot more pink but didn\u2019t have the same wow factor. It still was however, the no.1 spot for all those plastic ponies to graze.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>3. Thundercats Sword of Omens (Batteries not included)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/thundercat.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-464\" src=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/thundercat-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"3857-Thundercats-Lion-o-Sword-Of-Omens-large.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Back in the late 80\u2019s and early 90\u2019s, the Thundercats were massive. Wielded by their heroic leader Lion-o, the Sword of Omens lit up in the dark and was a sword for crying out loud &#8211; of course we all wanted one!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>4. Pogo Ball<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/pogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-465\" src=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/pogo-300x204.jpg\" alt=\"pogo\" width=\"300\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Like the weird amalgamation of a pogo-stick and Space Hopper, the Pogo Ball kept kids bouncing up and down those pavements all summer long.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>5. Teddy Ruxpin<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ruxpin.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-466\" src=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/ruxpin-278x300.jpg\" alt=\"teddyruxpin-e copy.JPG\" width=\"278\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The original talking-ted (so long as you had the cassette tapes), Teddy Ruxpin would tell us bedtime stories and sing lullabies so mum and dad didn\u2019t have to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>6. Pound Puppies<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/pound-puppies-ebay.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-467\" src=\"http:\/\/mixingout.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/pound-puppies-ebay-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"pound puppies\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">With a marketing campaign that would probably be perceived today as extortionate, kids and parents everywhere were guilted into buying these sad, abandoned, but oh so adorable puppies.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The sequel to Seth McFarlane\u2019s Ted came out last week and we can\u2019t recommend it highly enough, especially if you like your humour rude, crude and tiptoeing the razor\u2019s edge of controversy.
